Historic England is gathering insight into cases where cuts to local authority funding, and the grants they can make to their community organisations, or any other issues, are potentially affecting the viability of heritage organisations, particularly those that care for heritage buildings. This has been the subject of recent questions in the Dept for Digital Culture Media and Sport Select Committee in Parliament. The aim is for Historic England to be able to collate and present this information to the DCMS.
If your organisation is encountering difficulties that might mean you have to dissolve, or if you have come across such organisations through your networks or the local media, please share the details – it will greatly assist. Historic England are only interested in organisations based in England or operating UK-wide. All information provided will be held confidentially by Historic England and used solely for the purpose of collating and reporting to DCMS. They have created a short form to record the information .
