London Historic Buildings Trust (LHBT) is delighted to announce that it has been awarded a three year Regional Capacity Building grant by Historic England.

This will enable the charity to employ two Project Managers to deliver regeneration projects from the Heritage at Risk register throughout Greater London and to contribute to the High Street Heritage Action Zone agenda through providing advice, training, skill sharing and options appraisals.

Diana Beattie OBE, Chair of LHBT said: “This generous grant means that we will be able to undertake several exciting heritage at risk projects at once. We shall be focussing on the positive social impact our projects can deliver, while growing our small organisation to the point where we can bring in our own income to cover the cost of project management well into the future.

“London Historic Buildings Trust has a positive momentum following its recently launched new Strategic Plan, thanks to a National Lottery Heritage Fund Resilient Heritage funded project, with an expanded ambition and new branding, and above all, many expressions of interest in working together from a range of stakeholders”.

Clare Charlesworth, Head of Region (London & South East), Historic England said “We are pleased to support London Historic Buildings Trust, who champion conservation, regeneration and the historic environment by working closely with local communities. Our Regional Capacity Building grant aims to help the Trust build a strong, sustainable future over the next 3 years.”
