Conference is always the highlight of the year; a fun and friendly mix of inspirational speakers, lively discussions and fascinating tours and visits to historic sites and community projects.
Access
We will be working to make this conference as accessible as possible. Details of venue access arrangements are below and will be updated with further information as we near the conference dates. For all tours we recommend wearing appropriate footwear and clothing for being outside and walking or moving around. Bring water or snacks if you think you will need them during tours or visits.
Members of the Heritage Network staff and trustee team will be accompanying each tour and available for any queries on the day, please let them know if you have any issues or need any help.

Great Victoria Hotel: Bag drop & Information point; Main Conference Venue – Breakout sessions
Great Victoria Hotel, Bridge Street, Bradford BD1 1JX
There is a level change to the entrance of the building, which can be accessed via steps or ramp. The reception, bar, restaurant and meeting rooms (Lanchester, Carmargue, Dragonfly and Corniche) are are all on the ground floor with level access. The Velasco meeting room is on the lower ground floor with steps to the room inside the building or outside level access via a door on Drake Street.
Accessible toilets are available on the ground floor.
All rooms for the hotel are located on the 1st floor or higher, the hotel has a metal lift which is currently out of order so all rooms are accessible via stairs only.
Victoria Hall, Saltaire: Welcome drinks venue; Tour location

Victoria Hall’s front and rear entrances have several sets of steps. Level access to the lower ground floor is at the Lockwood Street side entrance, with a lift to the ground and first floors.
Accessible toilets are located on the ground floor and first floor.
St George’s Hall: Main Conference Venue – Plenary Session

St George’s Hall has step free access to ground floor and to the Stalls level is via the lift or there is the ramp at the front of the building to the Stalls. There are 3 accessible toilets on the ground floor, and 1 on the stalls level (1st floor). There is no lift access to the dress and grand tier levels.
Conference Dinner: Venue to be announced
Access to the venue is step-free via the main entrance which leads directly into the Stalls/Foyer Bar area. From here, a lift provides access to all floors. The VIP entrance is step-free with access to all floors via lift.
Accessible toilets are available on each level. On the ground floor there are three accessible toilets located between doors B,C and D into the stalls, and one Changing Places facility located by door B.

Darley Street Market has level, step-free access to the ground floor, with lift or escalator access to all other floors.
Bradford’s Gurdwara Amrit Parchar Dharmik Diwan: Tour location

As you enter the gurdwara there is one step (without a handrail) and following this there will be 7 steps down into the area where we will congregate (this area does have handrails) after this the front of the building has around 5 steps without hand rails.

Access to the Synagogue includes 2 steps without a handrail. Within the building access is level, and the main hall has a narrow aisle between pews, with carpeted floors.
The rest of the tour involves walking to other locations on ground which may be uneven or cobbled, and may involve steps or inclines.

Saltaire Retrofit Reimagined : Tour location

The building includes 2 steps without a handrail at the entrance, level access to rooms on the ground floor, and a staircase with no handrail to the first floor rooms.
Science and Media Museum: Tour location
Science and Media Museum, Pictureville, Bradford BD1 1NQ
Lifts can be accessed from the museum foyer on Level 0, going to all levels of the museum. The lifts are wheelchair-accessible and have audio announcements, Braille and raised buttons.
Accessible toilets are located on Level 0 and in Pictureville Bar.
There is a Changing Places Toilet on Level 0. It is equipped with hoist, changing bench and centrally located toilet. The toilet is accessible with a RADAR key. If you have forgotten your key, please ask a member of staff for access.
A Quiet Room is available on Level 0. Please ask a member of staff for more information.
Visualising Heritage in Bradford University’s Immersive space: Tour location

There is level access to the building, and to the immersive space. The immersive space is a domed inflatable room and has a diameter of 7 meters. There is room for around 12 people standing or seated.
