Alan Clarke is our Northern Ireland based Trustee helping to champion the work of our members in that area. A Chartered Surveyor by background, Alan has spent the past 25 years specialising in the regeneration sector.
Alan learned the value of heritage restoration and reuse plus the importance of engaging with arts, cultural and community interests in the regeneration of Belfast’s Laganside and Cathedral Quarter, as the city emerged from a troubled past to become the major tourist attraction it is today. This paved the way for nearly a decade in Town/City Centre Management, firstly in Antrim Towns and then in Lisburn City Centre, gaining valuable experience in managing Townscape Heritage Initiatives in Antrim & Lisburn.
His current property management role, finds Alan caring for Listed and Scheduled heritage assets.
As a voluntary Trustee, Alan currently chairs the Management Board of R-Space Gallery, an Arts based charity with a free to access gallery in the heart of Lisburn City Centre, and with ambition to acquire and restore the Listed Building of which the charity currently occupies part.
