Conference Bursaries & Digital Heroes Opportunities Announced

By August 7, 2025No Comments
Groups of people sit together in circles at a conference, they are talking and interacting with each other.

Are you a young person, volunteer, early career professional, or small heritage organisation that wants to attend our annual conference? This year we have a number of opportunities for you to attend the conference without the cost of a ticket. Each year we are able to offer conference bursary places and digital hero volunteering opportunities to our annual conference, and this year we have more places than ever before!

Bursary Places

As part of our conference sponsorship, a number of heritage businesses and organisations have sponsored bursaries to support individuals, smaller heritage groups, or young people attend the conference where they might not be able to otherwise. These bursaries include a ticket to the full conference, including all of the conference elements, as well as up to £150 towards travel and accommodation over the course of the conference.

We have 10 bursaries available for the 2025 conference.

Sponsoring organisations include:

  • Almond Tree Consulting
  • Buttress
  • Cooper Parry
  • Creative Heritage Consultants
  • CT: Accountants Advisers
  • Knox McConnell
  • LDN Architects
  • Social Research Builders

Applications for these bursaries close at 12midday on Tuesday 26th August 2025, applicants will be informed if they have been successful no later than end of day on Friday 29th August.

Digital Heroes at Conference

Each year, the Heritage Network Conference offers volunteering opportunities to young people to attend the conference, whilst building their digital experience by helping the Network to cover the conference on our social media channels.

Digital Heroes volunteers will be provided with training and support throughout the conference and will develop their content creation and social media skills through volunteering at the conference.

This opportunity is for young people (aged 18-30) who hold or wish to develop social media skills, with priority given to those based in Yorkshire. Volunteers will be provided with accommodation for the duration of the conference, and travel and food expenses will be covered. 2 Digital Heroes places have been sponsored for the conference – we thank Cooper Parry and Buttress for sponsoring these places.

Digital Heroes are expected to commit to 40 hours of volunteering: around 25- 30 hours over the course of the conference, and an additional 10-15 pre and post conference, including necessary training and briefings, and follow up afterwards.

Applications for these Digital Heroes roles close at 12midday on Tuesday 26th August 2025. Applicants will be informed if they have been successful no later than end of day on Friday 29th August.
