Introducing our new UK Heritage Trainee, Phoebe.
Based in South Wales, Phoebe will be supporting the Network on a UK-wide basis throughout the year, gaining valuable experience and contributing to a range of exciting plans and activities.
Phoebe studied for a BA in History at Bath Spa University and went on to complete an MA in History at Cardiff University. She developed a strong interest in the heritage sector during her time at university, volunteering with several heritage organisations across both England and Wales. These experiences confirmed her passion for heritage and her desire to pursue it as a career.
Following her postgraduate studies, Phoebe took on a year-long contract with Tenovus Cancer Care as a Policy, Insight and Engagement Assistant. In this role, she developed her skills in community engagement and communications. She is now eager to bring this experience into a heritage context.
Over the next year, Phoebe will support the Network in a wide range of activities. She will assist with event planning and delivery, contribute to the growth of the Youth Forum and Digital Heroes initiatives, and support the wider work of the team across the UK.
Phoebe says: “I’m really looking forward to visit parts of the UK I haven’t had the change to explore yet, getting to know our members, and learning more about the sector along the way.”
Essential Networks is made possible with the National Lottery Heritage Fund. Thanks to National Lottery players, we have been able to create the position of UK Heritage Trainee.
