Heritage organisations in Scotland can look forward to attending dedicated Carbon Literacy training in 2025, thanks to funding from Historic Environment Scotland.
For the last year, the Heritage Network’s series of Carbon Literacy events in England have been met with high demand, and now Scottish organisations will also have the chance to gain this nationally recognised accreditation.
The training, which will be delivered by Keep Scotland Beautiful, represents an exciting opportunity for participants to develop a strong foundational knowledge of the causes and impacts of climate change, as well their own carbon footprints.
The sessions will also explore what a low carbon heritage organisation looks like and the co-benefits of climate action for the heritage sector. Participants will leave equipped to support behaviour change in their own organisations which will help further their sustainability and net zero goals.
The online training will be split across two half days, with sessions running in September and November 2025. Tickets are now on sale via Eventbrite:
Heritage Network members will receive priority booking and discounted pricing.
This course is only available for one person per organisation, and organisations must be based in Scotland. Local authorities, higher education establishments and private owners are not eligible for this training.
