“I wanted to become a trustee for the Heritage Network as I am passionate about the transformative power of heritage on local communities. Coming from a cultural and heritage led regeneration area, I wanted to give back to the sector and supporting development and resilience. I am most looking forward to being able to contribute to the strategic direction of the organisation as it develops over the next few years, and learning from fellow board members, the team, and the ever growing membership.” – Julie

Komal Patil – Trainee Trustee

Komal is an Architect with a MA in Conservation of Historic Buildings from the University of York and has been in the profession for over five years. She brings together technical expertise and a passion for heritage with a soft spot for crumbling cornices and forgotten facades.
With a keen eye for detail and a believer in thoughtful architecture, she enjoys finding creative ways to blend tradition with innovation. She’s driven by the challenge of making heritage meaningful in today’s world, believing it’s not just about preservation but about storytelling, sustainability, and community.
She’s particularly interested in how modern design and technology can help heritage thrive and connect with new audiences.
