We aim to grow our Network, not for its own sake but because we know there are so many community heritage leaders out there who could benefit from the networking, peer learning and supportive community the Network provides” – David Tittle, Chief Executive of Heritage Network

We are delighted to announce that the Heritage Network has reached 1000 members. We’re thrilled to have such a thriving network of community organisations, businesses, individuals, young people, local authorities and funders. Since 2016, the Network has not only grown its membership, but the support it offers and it’s staff as well.

If you’re just finding out about the Heritage Network, hello! We’re the UK’s membership body for communities that are restoring, reusing and managing historic sites for the benefit of their community. We provide support to these organisations in the form of specialist resources, networking, events, training and programmes. We’re needed because when a community wants to save a building important to them, there can be many challenges along the road. One of the best things about the Network reaching 1000 members and continuing to grow is that there’s now even more people and organisations to connect with. We can always put a member in touch with another who has experienced the same if not similar situation!

1000 members signifies just how much the Heritage Network has developed. Previously, we were called the Heritage Trust Network but changed to the Heritage Network at the beginning of 2025 to better represent our members who range from trusts to businesses to local authorities.

So what does reaching 1000 members mean?

For members, it means more opportunity to connect with other people and organisations across the UK, more events and training opportunities as numbers grow, and more recognition for community heritage across the wider heritage sector.

For the team at the Heritage Network, 1000 members shows we’re increasing, and we’re excited to reach as many organisations as we can.

And of course, we’d like to thank members for being part of the Network. We’ve learned a lot from them and it’s always brilliant to read a recent news story or catch up with them and their work.
