Heritage Network member the Samlesbury Hall Trust were honoured by a royal visit in February as King Charles III spent time looking around the wonderful grade I building as part of his tour of a number of sites in and around Clitheroe in Lancashire.
The King spoke to staff, trustees and volunteers from the Hall and other local charities and businesses. One of these was Michael Guy representing the Heritage Network and Heritage Trust North West, after a kind invitation from Samlesbury Hall Trust.
Michael said: “It was a real privilege to be invited and it was especially pleasing to hear the King’s own personal passion for the building and heritage preservation in general.”
Lauren Machin, Hall Director, said: “In our 701 year history we have never had a visiting monarch on our records, and it was a delight to be able to welcome King Charles III. We were even able to offer him tea with honey and fruitcake in our Billiard Room, which was an honour”
