The search is on once again for Oxford’s most outstanding new buildings and conservation projects, as Oxford Preservation Trust (OTP) launches its prestigious annual awards scheme for 2026.

Now in its 49th year, the OPT Awards celebrate the very best projects that shape Oxford’s unique character, with six categories to reflect the city’s evolving landscape: Building Conservation, Adaptive Reuse, New Buildings, Public Realm, Green Spaces, and Community Impact.

Anna Eavis, CEO of Oxford Preservation Trust, said:

‘The OPT Awards shine a spotlight on the projects that are helping Oxford evolve thoughtfully and responsibly. We are particularly keen to see entries that demonstrate how heritage, sustainability and community benefit can work hand in hand. From major architectural interventions to grassroots initiatives, these awards celebrate the care, creativity and commitment that make Oxford such a special place.’

Last year’s award-winners included Hinksey Little Wheels and Wet Play Park in the new Community Impact category recognised for delivering a truly community-focused public amenity project, designed to bring families together and create inclusive outdoor play opportunities. The renovation of Harris Manchester College was recognised in the Adaptive Reuse category. The project sensitively modernised the building to create a welcoming and accessible multi-use space, able to serve contemporary needs while protecting and enhancing historic features.

The awards are open to a wide range of projects, large or small, from exceptional new architecture and the conservation of historic buildings to projects that enhance the wider landscape or have a strong community focus. Whether an architect, owner, tenant, or neighbour, anyone can enter a project for consideration.

To enter a project for an award, visit the OPT website. The deadline for applications is Thursday 30 April 2026.

The OPT Awards 2026 are sponsored by Gravita, Mathews Comfort Insurance Brokers, and Carter Jonas. Without this support OPT would not be able to celebrate the positive contribution new projects make to Oxford’s unique character, streets and communities.
