We are proud to announce that the Heritage Network has been accredited as a Disability Confident Employer, our second certificate confirming our commitment to becoming a disability confident organisation.
This accreditation demonstrates that we are working to become more disability confident so that we can better attract, recruit, retain and develop disabled people in our workplace by:
- ensuring our recruitment process is inclusive and accessible
- communicating and promoting vacancies through media aimed at disabled people
- offering an interview to disabled people who meet the minimum criteria for the job anticipating and providing reasonable adjustments as required
- supporting any existing employee who acquires a disability or long-term health condition, enabling them to stay in work
- providing training to staff
- providing work experience and paid traineeships in an inclusive and accessible environment
- ensuring there are no barriers to the development and progression of disabled people
- identifying and sharing good practice
This is the second step in our journey as we work towards being fully disability confident and we are committed to having a workforce that reflects our ethos of equity, diversity and inclusion.
