InvestSK, South Kesteven’s economic growth and regeneration company, has appointed Liz Bates as Assistant Chief Executive. Liz, who joins the company from Heritage Lincolnshire where she has been CEO for 6 years, will take up the new post on June 10.
As a wholly-owned company of South Kesteven District Council, InvestSK leads an ambitious economic growth agenda for the district; supporting local businesses to grow, delivering new inward investment projects, boosting the arts, heritage and visitor economy offers, and enhancing the skills of South Kesteven’s future workforce.
Liz will support Steve Bowyer, InvestSK’s Chief Executive, to deliver its broad and ambitious growth agenda. Her skills and wealth of experience from the heritage, regeneration and place-making sectors will be a particularly valuable asset for South Kesteven.
Commenting on her appointment, Liz Bates said: “As a new organisation delivering the council’s exciting ambition for inclusive economic growth, it’s fantastic to see InvestSK working so closely with businesses, charities and residents and already achieving such a lot in a short time.
“I’m looking forward to joining the InvestSK team and playing a part in celebrating all this wonderful district has to offer: a deep, rich heritage, a vibrant arts and cultural programme, countless visitor attractions and many varied world-class businesses.”
Steve Bowyer, chief executive of InvestSK, said: “I’m delighted to welcome Liz to InvestSK. She brings a wealth of experience from a range of sectors and I know will bring a lot to an already fantastic team.
“Liz is also an experienced fundraiser, having secured more than £11 million from a wide range of public and private sector sources, and this will be a valuable skill which will benefit both InvestSK and the wider South Kesteven economy.
