Becket’s Chapel, Norfolk has been given the honour of being the exemplar site for one of Historic England’s Climate Change Adaptation case studies.
The chapel is owned by Network members Historic Norfolk who worked on it with fellow members The Architect Studio.
Patricia from the Architect Studio said: “I’ve dedicated over three years to this incredible project, collaborating closely with Historic Norfolk, the client, surveyors from Historic England, and the local conservation officer to bring our vision to life. Leading a talented consultant team and managing the contract on site has been an incredible experience. Seeing our hard work recognised as a case study on the Historic England website is the ultimate reward for all the challenges we’ve overcome. Thank you to everyone involved for making this journey so rewarding!
After being announced as a finalist for the AABC Conservation Awards in November, I’m thrilled to share that we have now been notified that Becket’s Chapel is one of just 11 winning projects at a national level! This incredible recognition celebrates the dedication and creativity behind preserving and adapting this historic building to meet the needs of the future. Whether we receive a prize or a commendation will be revealed at the ceremony in April, but this achievement alone is something we can all be immensely proud of.”
